Mobilidata
The Flemish Mobilidata programme demonstrates how a regional connected mobility ecosystem enables transportation agencies, road operators, mobility service providers and technology partners to collaborate through secure real-time data exchange. Led by the Flemish Government in collaboration with imec, Mobilidata provides the digital foundation for deploying connected mobility services that improve road safety, traffic flow, sustainability and quality of life.
Between March 2023 and February 2024, Mobilidata introduced 29 connected mobility services, making Flanders one of Europe’s most advanced connected mobility ecosystems. These services include real-time traveler information, Road Works Warning (RWW), Emergency Vehicle Alert (EVA), intelligent traffic signal services and other innovative applications that support safer, more efficient and more sustainable mobility.
Through open standards, interoperability and collaboration between public and private partners, Mobilidata demonstrates how existing infrastructure can evolve into future-ready digital infrastructure without replacing legacy systems.
Monotch contributes to the Mobilidata ecosystem through TLEX®, enabling secure real-time data exchange between transportation agencies, roadside infrastructure, connected vehicles and mobility service providers.
