Governance

As part of the Dutch Talking Traffic program, a public-private governance structure was created to keep national smart mobility services effective, expand their scale and expand on new use cases. The governance setup comprises several new governmental bodies, with the Strategic Council (SC) and the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as the most important.

The responsibility of the SC is to ensure that standards and processes are rightfully followed. The CAB prepares and advises the SC on changes. Besides the governmental bodies, the entire setup also includes more practical elements such as publishing standards and a community platform.

The overall setup has led to a number of standards on a technical and procedural level. All cities, regions and market players have adopted these standards. This governance blueprint can be used by authorities worldwide to speed up the digitalisation of the mobility ecosystem.
